Not New News, But Still Unbelievable: The World’s Heaviest Living Woman
It’s been a while since I’ve written a post on “Not New News, But Still Unbelievable” and when I read this post on Dlisted about The World’s Fattest Woman, I knew I had to bring it on back. So here goes.
Pauline Potter herself has been in the news for a while now. When she first was inducted into the Guinness World Record book for being the “Heaviest Living Woman” at 728 pounds and a 10,000 calorie a day diet, it was reported that
Pauline says her reason for getting in touch with Guinness World Records was to gain public attention for her situation, in the hope that an expert would see her story and want to help her lose weight.
Explaining her decision, Pauline says: “I got in touch with Guinness World Records to start with because I was tired of being this size”.
“I knew I was getting close to 700 (pounds), but I wanted to get my story out there so that a doctor or nutritionist could help me,” she added.
“Also I thought it would be a great opportunity to open the door for once I start losing, then maybe I could get another record for the woman losing the most weight.”
Huh. So public shaming is the way to lose weight now? New diet trend alert! But seriously, Pauline has a very interesting and tragic relationship with food and weight that stems from her childhood.
While she believes that being overweight is in her genes, she describes her childhood as an “overabundance” of food, with snacks used to both reward and console.
“My mom was over 400 pounds and my dad over 600,’ she said. ‘I have eight siblings all which are over 300, except one”, she explains.
That’s unbelievable. Well, Pauline has been back in the news recently and it’s for a very public dose of oversharing. Apparently, she has lost almost 100 pounds in the past 7 months by…having constant sex with her ex-husband. Wow. Just wow.
But when her ex-husband Alex saw Pauline’s record-breaking entry, he visited for the first time in three years – and, incredibly, despite Pauline’s size, reignited their sex life. They now make love up to seven times in one day, despite [much smaller] Alex risking suffocation if Pauline gets on top.
“I can’t move much in bed, but I burn 500 calories a session – it’s great exercise just jiggling around. I hadn’t had sex in three years, but we did it six times! He took charge as I couldn’t move much, but he was so attentive. I orgasm every time. We love foreplay and massages and, as well as full sex, I pleasure Alex, too. My bed is strengthened and, although I can’t buy sexy lingerie, I drape a nice sheet over me.”
“It’s hard to position her and find her pleasure spots as she has a lot of fat in the pelvic area. But it turns me on knowing she’s satisfied. Although once, when she got on top, I couldn’t breathe.”
Oh the internets. First of all, I really hope Pauline is using protection. I watched this TLC Special about morbidly obese and pregnant women (which I’ve been meaning to post about…I’ll get on that) and it’s a terrifying combination for both mother and baby. So, be careful Pauline!
I actually have no problem with Pauline getting some good lovin’. No problem at all. I’m all for people of all sizes getting their love on. But why is this necessary to share with the world? And especially in such grotesque detail that is essentially asking for the rampant fat haters to jump on board with? Perhaps I’m old fashioned, but I don’t like reading about anyone’s private business so publicly, no matter their weight or size. However, I am wondering if this will be a new fitness trend…Pauline calls it “sexercising“…do you think gyms will start to offer this one? I mean, 100 pounds in 7 months is pretty fantastic…
